As we head into Memorial Day Weekend, I find myself reflecting—not just on backyard BBQs or showing beautiful homes (though yes, I’ll sneak in an open house or two!), but on what this weekend truly means.

Memorial Day is a sacred pause. A moment in our busy lives to remember those who paid the ultimate price for our freedoms. As a wife to a brave firefighter and a proud American, I carry a deep respect for every man and woman who wore the uniform and didn’t come home. This freedom we enjoy—to live, to laugh, to gather with family—isn’t free. And this weekend, we honor that truth.

If you're like me, your weekend might be full—kids running wild, potato salad in the fridge, flags fluttering in the warm Florida breeze. And I’ll take a quiet moment between listing appointments and ensuring everyone has enough sunscreen. I hope you do too. Whether it’s at a local memorial service, saying a prayer of gratitude, or just teaching the next generation why this day matters—it all counts.
